Can a s5 produce some intake noise?

It may seem like a very stupid question, I'm in the midst of my N/A daily driver rebuild, and my current daily driver is a first gen. I love a throaty intake growl from a all-motor car ( the turbo noise I can get from my weekend car!) Was wondering since this is the first second gen non-turbo I've dealt with, do any of you owners with mods have a nice intake noise? I was planning on using a cone filter, maybe some 3" hard pipes to replace the rubber intake, removing the second set of secondary throttle plates , ported uim, lim, with a street port. Is it possible? or is the long curvy intake and little AFM too much and drown out all the nice sound? Just wondering, Thanks for any replies

I havent noticed any throttle sound on my S4 N/A... might hear a little more if you remove the sound deadening matterial... but then you run the risk of messin up your paint... anywho my $.02

If you are wondering if it will sound loud like an aftermarket intake on a Honda, then no. Aftermarket filters on FC's sound almost identical to the stock airbox.

The stock air box is also a noise suppressor.
Replace it with a cone filter, and you can hear the intake noise by yanking on the throttle body while under the hood - it's noticable.

indeed i have quite a bit of intake noise at least i did till i got exhaust, which kinda muffles the intake sound so i cant hear it anymore, but i put a cone metal mesh filter on my 90 GTU it also hase a plastic heat shield wraped around it and i think that is the main reason it is so load, u can hear the air being sucked through the openings on the heat shield, sounds pretty cool

My cone filter makes noise but I cannot hear it while driving since exhaust note is louder than that.

I have a K/N filter, with no air box... when the car is still, I can rev it to about 5K and it'll make a decently loud (can be heard inside the car or outside about 10 ft away) and all the way upto 7500.

If you're standing in the rear of the car, you don't hear **** but the exaust. You also can't hear it while driving... although I can in 1st now and then. With the hood open it really makes a loud whoosh sucking noise.

yeah i hear my cone filter with the hood up. its that same very distinctive metalic wizzing noise you get when you do a ghetto compression test. unlike what you'll hear on any other car

My intake is extremely loud.

One night a friend and I were driving down the highway, and I let him nose ahead a little, then grabbed third and roared up beside him again. He said he could hear my intake over not only my exhaust, but also HIS exhaust.

BTW, his car is an LS1 Trans Am with a cutout right behind the cat. And the cutout was open.

With the hood popped and me pushing the throttle linkage I can hear it. My exhaust is much louder though so I can't tell when driving.

That was before my turbo conversion though.
