A buddy of mine has a Pace Setter header, straight pipe and Dynomax mufflers in Houston. It sounds nice at idle, but at WOT, it sounds like a weed-whacker. He said he likes the performance gain, but hates the cut in torque, and the annoying noise. Personally, I am doing the racepipe and cat-back, but leaving the old manifold in place. It just sounds better to me that way!

You've probably never heard the RB header/presilencer to a HKS exhaust then. Very throaty deep toan and not weed whacker like. Still has the 3300 RPM drone though.

you do know that backpressure DOES NOT create torque right??

i had the pace setter header on my low 14 N/A, i didnt think it was bad, i had a straight 2.5" pipe with no silencers or mufflers, very very deep tone up to 3000 and then a weed whacker on steroids, but still a nice sound up there.

The only headers that I know of that will bolt to OEM cats are the ones from Mindtrain. RB and Pacesetter (a VERY last resort) do not. You have to have a custom 3-way cat fitted in. The Mindtrain headers and the Racing Beat headers are great! I have the RB on my car and the fit and finish of them is unbeatable. The were a polished silver that now has the cool heat-blueing affect to them. Really neat looking.

I have heard of Pacesetters, under heavy race conditions, actually bending on racecars. The pipes they use are too thin for the rotray's heat.
