hard starting

well, i fianlly got my 86 na on the road legally today. Question i have is, its really hard to get started, seems like it is always flooded, I have to hold the gas to the floor even when its warm, if i dont it turns over and kinda putts a cpl times but never gets going. Now when its cold all i have to do is lean in the car and turn the keys , 2-3 seconds of turning over and it starts, doesnt quite fire up like my old ford does , like it wants to get out and go, kinda mumbles to life. But otherwise seems to run fine after it is running, Any idea what the deal is ?? Oh yeah, just changed the plugs.

Ehh have you done a tune up on it yet? Also what is the condition of the battery and charging system. I change my coolent temp senser behind the water pump housing and it kind of fix the problem. Replacing the ground wires helped too.

yes definately check the sensor on the back of the water pump neck. stick it in a pot of water and put it on the stove and turn it on medium heat.take a thermometer and measure resistance across the sensor with a DMM, at 176* F it should read 0.32k ohms +/- 0.032k ohms

no actually rx7s are 0 cylider, all second generation rx7s (maybe all rx7s period, i'm not sure on non-2nd gens) came from the factory with a 2-rotor engine, hence rotary engine, not 4-cylinder piston engine
