I hate to be a search ****, but most of your questions have already been answered. Haltechs and AFCs are aftermarket fuel management systems. Most of the other stuff you mention either have FAQs or detailed write ups. Someone just posted like this week about modding an NA, so search back a few days and see what you can turn up.

alright..Yes, you can do both to your N/A. The haltech is not only an Air Fuel Management System, but basically gives you adjustability to almost every aspect of your car. Haltechs (for the unit themselves) run around $1000, and you'll find SAFC's for around $350 (doing this from memory and im not even looking into em right now). Rotaries are tuned to run rich from the factory for liability and engine safety reasons, which burns cooler, but will rob power from the car. Usually you find that the SAFC is used to lean out (more air, less fuel) the mixture to create more power.
if you really want power, stop freaking out and porting everything you can, when it wont make a difference after a certain point. Your ENGINE ports are the biggest restriction in the system as proven by the most HP increase. You'll be able to put out about 250hp if you port your engine and that should be enough to beat 'riced up honda hatch back' things.
BTW, hondas ARE very very played out by stupid trendy kids, but dont underestimate them in the hands of a true enthusiast, a 'puny' honda can push some big numbers.

Hlatech is expensive about $1300.00 but controls everything you can think of. Including E-fan, NOS, timing fuel etc..... The S-AFC ($350) is a piggy back meaning it will need the stock computer to give it initial information. The Haltech is Stand Alone, you remove the stock computer. The afc will only adjust fuel a certain percentage over stock, so it can only go so far up or down, and it doesn't control timing. The AFC is cheap, quick and painless, but does only one thing. The Haltech is expensive, takes a while to install, but does many things. What can you afford?....NEXT TIME DO A SEARCH..DON'T BE LAZY!
a haltech is a big upgrade. it controls fuel curves and ignition curves has to be tuned from the ground up. the AFC is a piggyback fuel computer that controls the output of your injectors. if you want a lilttle more power and your state doesnt have emission checks, then get rid of your catalytic converters. opening up the exhaust on a rotary makes a world of difference.

Basically, the Haltech replaces your stock ECU and has complete control over fuel delivery and ignition timing, depending how you program it.
The A'PEXi S-AFC is a piggy-back computer that works in conjuction with your stock ECU and can only control fuel delivery only (not as flexible as a Haltech).
If you have no clue what these two piece of equipment do, I do not recommend even thinking about going Haltech.  A Haltech install is pretty involved, and tuning a Haltech almost requires a college degree in automotive control systems.
