Had a thought about the cruse control.
When I purchased my car from the previous owner, he had the cruse control unit zip tied so it held the throttle cable open... I believe this was done to help the car start.... WHY would he have to do this? what did he band aid over???

Probably don't have the throttle body plates or the idle air screw (on the very top of the throttle body) adjusted properly. He probably did this cheap fix so that the proper amount of air is drawn in while the car is idling.

I messed with the idle so now it sits up around 1500 when started...
I was just curious because my car is hard to start..
I know I have a problem with the water thermosensor but inorder to start the car (even when its warm) I have to pump the gas pedal to keep it going.
Its almost like I have to pump the fuel in by pressing the pedal rapidly while cranking it over.....
The faster I pump my foot the easier the car starts...

well when i first started the rebuild the idle was around 1500-1600 now i lowered it just a bit to 1500... It also seems like when starting the car if I can get it up past 1500 rpms before it stalls its all good BUT if i let it drop below 1500 it stalls out..(until its warmed up)

the throttle cable should have some slack...
I learned, during my whole idle ordeal, that the throttle cable should not be what you adjust to fix your idle. What you should really do is adjust the idle speed screw on top of the tb/dynamic chamber as well as the secondary throttle stop screw to get your car idling properly.

I wasnt implying that i wanted to adjust my idle but I do want to fix the problem of having to pump the gas pedal inorder to "prime" it to start...
But ever since I remove the ziptie Ive have to had a leg spasm to get my car started...
