I would think you could do better for $600. If in ran OR had a good body i think it would be worth it. But what kind of body work (rust?)

If you don't have much money, don't buy a car that you are not happy with. For $600 you don't have much choice (though there's some real legends you'll hear about on this list of people buying cars for $100 and getting them running for no money). Look around your area for junkyards that have RX-7 parts cars to pull from. For a few more hundred, you should be able to find a running car. You'll need a grand or two for a reliable motor so choose wisely.

Be real careful. If you don't have $$$ to play w/, mabye a rx-7 is not the best idea for a cheap car. I bought my bone stock 1991 n/a for $4,200 back in September. You're gonna have to pay a bit for a good deal, or to get it running if you do not have the time or experience to work on it yourself! Mabye look at getting a first gen...

Take note!!!

You will either pay on the front end or on the back end. I bought an '88 in '96 and invested 14K in parts and labor. Almost new. I bought a '90 GXL in '01 and have invested 4.5K in engine rebuild and repairs. Is like new.

Front end or back end.....

Yeah, I forgot to say that you'll have to get comfy doing the work yourself and making friends that have tools and equipment. You'll also have to learn a lot from the internet and buy some manuals
