gutting drawbacks?

hey,

I was wondering if there were any drawbacks to gutting the main and pre cats on the TII... also, if the cats were gutted, and the TID mod + cone had been done, would that require a FCD?

does the TII use the back pressure from the precat to help spool the turbo faster?

thanks in advance.

always,
patrick

Gutted cats flow like crap, due to massive internal turbulance.

Yes, either that or porting the wastegate enough to keep boost below 8.6psi.

No, exactly the opposite. The lower the backpressure after the turbine, the faster the turbo will spool.
