Guage Cluster Convert

Ok well i was looking it some stuff and i was thinking about a conversion... i know you guys are going to cracking jokes on me through out this whole thread but here it goes... im goin to get a a carbon fiber dash board once my car is painted... i was thinking of not getting the guage cluster cut out and i was thinking about putting in a Honda S2000 guage... I personatly like the way it looks, the rpms go up too 10k i believe and the MPH is digital... now i was wondering if this is possible? well i know i need the Cluster, the plugs, and connect the correct wires together... now heres my problem what would i do to make the speedometer cable fit? change the ends that go into the transmission? i have alot of friends that are electrictions so i got that covert but not the speedometer cable part... And if your going to post, post your advice knowledge wise instead (just go buy and s2000 then) Thanks

most clusters now have brains of their own and run off a serial data line from other controllers, speed input is generally based off a digital signal(square wave, yes some generators like sensors output a digital signal) from either a single speed sensor or multiple ABS wheel speed sensors and sent to the first controller(generally the ABS control module) then the info is passed on to various other modules including the instrument cluster for translation and output.

if you can make it work i applaud you.

So you guys say the rx8 guage cluster is digital and it runs on a speedometer cable instead of sensors?
