Grinding on REverse
when you shift into reverse?... you know that you shouldnt shift into reverse while moving, if you are moving it will grind... so as long as you are stopped you shouldnt get any grinds
sounds like your clutch might not be fully releasing or something
*edit*
i know mine just sometimes doesnt want to go into reverse, a quick tap of the clutch fixes that though....
does it grind when you shift in, or when you are moving?

I agree, Clutch is not releasing or pilot bearing is worn out. The thicker trans fluid probably helped to slow the trans input shaft where with the redline it rotates easier.
Reverse does not have a syncro so it will grind if any of the trans parts are spinning while you try to engage it.

i have a really bad problem putting it into sixth.....grinds mad crazy.....otherwise i double cluith...thro it into second and then to reverse or first.....the other four gears are fine
there have been threads about this before, but basically, it was something to do with synchronizers. Reverse will grind if anything is moving too fast, so just put it in another gear (3rd usually works) and then pop it in....its not a problem with your tranny, it does it on many cars
