yes they both go a pressure source. the angled one DOESN't need to be connected but you will get a faster blow off with it.

That's the same one I'm using; I have mine connected only on the 90 degree one, the other is not connected and it works fine.

you need to connect the top one, the bottom one is if you wanna use it as a pop off. In other words the bov will open when it gets to a predetermined ammount.

DON'T CONNECT THE BOTTOM ONE IF THE BOV IS RUNNING OPEN VENTED.
If you're like 99% of the owners who run this thing open vented, don't connect anything to the bottom one.
The bottom fitting leaks into the discharge - if you don't believe me, blow into a hose connected to it, and you'll hear it leaking through the BOV discharge outlet.

He's saying the nipple on the bottom leaks air into the tube/chamber/etc that the blow off valve vents from when it's opened.

Leave the bottom / angled fitting disconnected.
That's the bottom line.

this may seem to be an idiot question, but does it matter if the pressure source is taken after the throttle plates ( IE manifolds ) or before the throttle plates ( IE intercooler piping ) ?

I never got a clear and basic answer to that question....

thanks

Yes! If it's before your throttle plates, when the plates snap shut the BOV will see boost on it's pressure line, which will act against letting it open. Kind of defeats the purpose of the valve!

so I have to hook it up on somewhere on the manifold?

which one of the 3-4 nipple on the bumper side of the UIM would you consider? I know what is the purpose of the ones on the firewall side, but not the purpose of the front ones...

well simply because this one will be occupied by my microtech map sensor

so I guess it would not be a great idea to split another line there...

Do you stil have the rat's nest? If not you have several more options for individual vac/boost nipples.

I posted this info a couple times for vac/boost sources. Anyways the shorted length of line will be from the nipple on the side of the UIM. For what it's worth I have my type S on my #1 pipe on my greddy FMIC kit and it has it's vac from the top nipple on the front of the UIM with no problems. It's always ideal to have the shortest length of hose but not always possible. I used every additional vac/boost source I had so I could have dedicated sources for each of my gauges/sensors.

That's WRONG.

The front side of the UIM - the top and bottom are the only ones that see vacuum.
The middle one is PRE TB, and only sees boost or 0 - NO VACUUM.
