Greddy Gauges?

I have Greddy Oil Pressure and Water Temperature gauges. I have the sensor's and the sensor harness placed in the correct places....

My question is, there are 4 wires from the other little harness:

Black = ground
Red = power
Orange = ignition power
White = parking light?!

Where do I find an ignition power source? What's a parking light source?! It doesn't sound like something I would need to hook up in order for things to work....

TIA for the help

parking light probably just means the gauge light will turn on when the lights turn on. I think mine is just spliced into the orange so the light is always on.... easier. there are lots of ign. sources inside. I just take mine off the fusebox. find something that only works with the keys on.

Are these peak/warning gauges?

Cause mine are, and I swear the white wire is and output for a buzzer/light.

Also, i believe the cigarette lighter has an illuminated ring around it you might be able to tap the illumination into. Im not sure if its fused though.

I took my light source from the cig lighter light.. and then got my ign and power source from my turbo timer harness.

I wired up the lighting with a switched power source so its always on. This is the lazy man method. On my friends car, we wired the lighting to a wire that gets power when the lights are on. The cig. lighter has a wire like this. Get an multimeter or one of those test lights and look for wires that have power when the lights are on and no power when the lights are off.

Do a search and there should be some posts about wiring up the gauge.

Thanks, so does this mean that if I only wire up the red and/or orange wire, then the light will be on the whole time/when the car is started?

Lol I have Greddy boost, egt, and a/f. I wired ALL of them up underneath my steering colum. My guages light up as I turn on the parking lights. Why would you run a wire all the way down to the cig lighter?! That sounds like a hassel.

hassle yes, but at the time I didn't have a DMM so I wasn't going to track down a source.. nor did I care it was easy enough to run a wire :P

*edit* after reading your mods.. DAMN you're going to control that big of injectors with a S-AFC???

if you wire to the red wire. the light will be on 24 hours a day. if you wire it to the orange wire. the gauge light will be on whenever the keys are in.

when it's light outside. you can't tell it's on anyways.

and I drive %100 of the time with my parking lights on anyways so it doesn't even matter to me....

Off topic, but what are the positions of the 2 wires that plug into the 3 pin connector on the guage? I lost my connector for the senor of my water temp guage.

Do you have a TII?

You can hook everything up to the greddy turbo timer harness, there is two extra wires on the harness. Thay will give you a power and ignition source, the ilumination source I got from the radio harness and the ground is all that is left.
Good chioce with the greddy's you will love them.

Oh hell yeah. I'll be running inbetween 12 and 15 pounds of boost, and I'll need alot of fuel to hold 300+ to the ground safely. Believe me, I'll need a shitload of fuel, so there won't be that much tuning, so it'll be perfect. I can't wait.. I'm hoping I can get everything finally hooked up tomorrow and get her tuned this coming week... I'm very excited.

I was more so amazed that you're doing it on a S-afc... with 4 720's I was pulling roughly 30% of my fuel... is your car even going to run?

OMG! Thank you so much. You basically answered two of my questions in that 1st sentence. Now I know what those two extra green and red wires are for, and where to wire the guages up for a good ignition power source!

Thanks again!

The white and black gauges light up green.

However, the silver 60mm gauges light up orange , thats what I have.

Ok, I don't really understand (kinda lost). So of the 4 wires that come with the Greddy gauges, I only need to wire the ground, and either of the red, orange, or white wires? Not all of them right?!

Black is ground, white is illumination, and the red and orange are both power. I hooked the red and orange up together to my stereo ignition power.

as above... one is constant 12v. one is switched 12v.

the constant one is to hold the gauge memory when you shut the car off (on the peak hold ones 60mm) if you have the 52mm on. just splice the white, red, orange together to a switched 12v source. this just means your gauge light will be on whenever the car is on. instead of when the lights are on. no big deal... you can't see the light when it's daytime anyways.

but if you have a 60mm gauge. wire the red one to constant power. so when you turn the car off. that wire still has power. you don't want to wire the other 2 to this. as then the gauge will never shut off.
