Talking Got Sylvania Silverstars

And they are really cool!! Really bright and really white too!! I'm very impressed by them, and would recommend them to anyone who wants a HID or HID look without having to spend loads of money for a custom kit/seal beam HID kit. $27 a pop, but i think they are worth it.

I'll get pics up ASAP.

Funny, I just had a headlight go out the other night and put in some GE superblues and they're only $28 a pair. They have no similarities to HID's other than the very white light emitted. They look nice, but have no blue tint or anything.

Are the silverstars available now? Sweet. I saw them at the NY auto show and they told me it would be a while till they were out. I'll have to get some.

which one did you buy?

9004 ST 700/1200 Max. 50/70 4000° K
9005 ST 1700 Max. 70 4000° K
9006 ST 1000 Max. 60 4000° K
9007 ST 1000/1350 Max. 60/70 4000° K

do you need the aftermarket diamond cut (plastic) headlights, in order to use these? or do they sell a sealed beam light? know any websites i can check out?

I was wondering if they sold these for our cars.
I got the ebay special.
They are diamond cut with some damn blue/illegal bulbs.
I need to get some of those before i get pulled over.

i got the ones off ebay and they are definitely an improvement over the stock units. Beams go out way farther than the stock pieces of crap.

Well, the silvers don't get the neat little chromatic effect from different angles as HID's, but other that that, and the fact that they are a bit dimmer (and square), you could mistake them for HID's. Very Very white. ("Blue" lights aren't so much blue as they are white. most car headlamps are quite yellow, so really white ones seem blue. Minds work in wonderful ways). Plus they're legal and easy to install and completley thick-*** glass so they aren't going to shatter anytime soon.

Jimmy: It's kind of ironic that it was my GE lamp that went out on me and got me in toruble with the staties in the first place I'm keeping the still good Wagner in the storage bin just in case though.

Whats really funny is that a sylvania went out on me and I too am keeping a functioning wagner as a spare. I've only had the car for a little under a year and all but the brake lights are what came with it for $450. (blown intermediate housing water land and ratty interior. still drove till she got too hot)

I've got no issues with any of the big bulb companies. I'm sure they all make about the same product, I just cant see spending 50 bucks on incandescent bulbs.

You could've gotten bone yard HID's from an acura for $100.... especially since you already had the sealed beam conversion kit.

I just bought the same ones, but I haven't put them on yet. I got them from Meijers for $25 and got a $10 rebate, so they ended up only costing $40. I'll post pics up once I get them on and share my thoughts.

I think you are talking about the HID conversion they had on display, that thing is about $600 for the kit.

A couple of years ago, I bought the Open Lense Beam Kit from Sylvania.

I had enquired about these In October. Only to find out that they won't be released until December. It wasn't until last week (by coincidence) I had bought a H4 set and love them. Truly comparible to PIAA's Crystal Whites.

Yeah I saw that too, but wasn't interested because of the cost. I ment the plain incandescent bulbs that just have a really high color temp.

I purchased a pair as well, and they are by far WAAAAY better than the stock P.O.S's. They arent THAT bright, but definitely an improvement, and for $19.99 each?!?! WHAT A DEAL! I will try to get up some pics, I have some before shots already from when I first got my car, so now I just need to take some after.

I just got mine on tonight and they're great! I thought I might get flashed for them being bright but no one did; they're just a lil bit dimmer than the xenon lights and they aren't blue. I would highly recommend them. I'll get pics up tomorrow.
