Got the S5 enigine swap running!!!

anyways, i just got the car started. (full n/a s5 powertrain swap into s4). it ended up to be a connector that i forgot about because it was hidden, and that connector was the main power to the injectors. just to let everybody know that this is not a swap for the faint of heart. i have cut and sliced so many wires, and looked at so many wire diagrams that i have memorized 90 percent of the connectors to the ecu.

i was quite amazed that the swap went pretty good and the enigne actually runs decently.(after 150 labor hours it better!) i have run into a couple of problems that maybe you guys can help me up with. im trying to bleed the cooling system and it keeps boiling over like it has air in it. i even jacked the front end up and that didnt even help. so im thinking that the radiator might be at fualt.(im using the s4 radiator). thanks guys!

p.s. how many poeple have tried this swap?

I have tried the swap..... I will never try it again. Good job getting it to run. "this is not a swap for the faint of heart" I will second this with everything I know.

Congrats. I take it the engine runs good and it sounds like you fixed the bug with the computer.

You probably have a bunch of air in the system still. Try running the engine without the rad cap and t-stat open (stationary in the driveway for the nitwits) and varying the revs to try to work some of the air out. You will lose coolant out of the top of the rad, but hopefully the air will get out also.

I am thinling about doing the swap, but switching the front plates, would it still be hard to do it the swap if i changed the front plates, and maybe even use the s4 intake manifolds at first? What would you guys reccomend?

yea but if you did that you wouldnt need to do the full swap. i would reccomend doing this http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/series5swap.html .
also, rx-heven, i have finaly bled out the cooling system, i used a tool that applies vaccum to the system and then used vaccum to fill the system. the tempurature is steady at about 175 degrees. does that seem a little bit low?(sits at about a quarter on the guage). thanks!

oh and also, i noticed that my oil pressure is in between 40-60 psi at idle and at around 110 psi or pegged above 2500 rpm's. i think the sender might be jacked, but maybe the thermal pellet is broke?
