got a question about installin a new wiring harness
i just started workin on a rx7 i had. i got it from a dude that had been drivin it and then left it parked under some leaves and some how the cat got so hot it caught of fire. so it charred the whole floorboard and some of the engine wiring. the car has ran once before after that by a mech of his. all the engine wiring looks screw up. it didnt affect the ecu though. is it hard to change out wiring harnesses in a 2cnd gen n/a i have a wiring harness from a 87 automatic rx7 to put in this 86 5spd. will the 87 harness work??

Clarifcation is needed as to which harness is gone, the passenger side or the driver's side. Driver's side will work, dunno about the auto thing though. If it is the passenger side, it should go in no prob. It is not hard to swap either. Lemme know which side is in q and I can give you much more info.
BTW, passenger side harness is $800 new from mazda... ask me how I know.

there are 3 harnesses, the main harness, the engine harness, and the alternator/starter harness. If it is the main harness that you need, there are 3 types, coupe (ABS), coupe (non-ABS) and vert. Auto/5-spd, there is no difference.
