Got my turbo out......ALMOST

So today I was planning on taking out my turbo to install some heat shields.

Didn't quite finish but so far I have:

Gotten the down pipe un bolted (actually the whole exhaust is off right now)

Taken of the TID and all that intake stuff.

Taken off all 4 nuts from the turbo/manifold bolts.

Also I have taken off 2 coolant lines I think. I have put them back on so they wont leak for now. The first was in the front of the turbo and the other was on the right side (the passangers side of the turbo) This was a banjo line, Does that sound correct.

What else is there, just the oil lines? How many are there, 2? Where on the turbo are they?

Also when I was under the car, it seemed like there were these actuator arms connecting to something. Do I have to take these off or do what they connect to just come off with the turbo?

Thanks in advance for any help. I have been searching for about an hour now and I cannot find what I am looking for.

Tim

the actuator for the twin scroll can be unhooked from the turbo manifold or you can unbolt from the car, whichever is easier for you. the actuator for the wastegate is fully attatched to the turbo and does not need to come off. coolant hoses should be on the right and left of the center of the turbo. the oil lines connect to the top and the bottom of the same part.

ok I'll look there. Thanks.

I have 1 more question. What does the inner heat shield on the turbo do? I can see how the outer one protects then engine bay and the harnesses around there, but what does the inner one do, protect the engine?

There are two oil lines, connected to the top and bottom of the center of the turbo. Each is held on by two 10mm bolts. I'd take the ACV off if you haven't yet. It will be much easier to get to the top bolts.

I have already gotten all of the bolts of the turbo/manifold part. Are you talking about those or the oil line bolts. Thanks.
