There is a place called Atkins Rotary near Seattle that sells rebuilt engines. www.atkinsrotary.com . In Portland Oregon, there is a place called Corksport that sells J-spec engines for $900 WITH turbo and intercooler. It'd be a pretty easy swap for you as you already have a T2. www.corksport.com

Have you done the ATF treatment? At the top of this page there is search feature, use ATF as the subject and you'll find a bunch of posts with the instructions. Good Luck

Yeah, try the ATF trick to see if you can hopefully cure that engine of yours, be sure to let it sit a day or two :-D

if the atf trick doesnt fix the problem, just get a rebuild done. that way you know what your getting at the end of the process... a new engine with 0 miles on it. buying an engine and popping it in, you are not 100% sure where the engine came from.

About the ATF

Well i got it checked out at KEY IMPORT'S, well known for fixing european imports ect, thats all they do, the guy said that the apex seal is wearing out and that oil is getting drawn in and its "detonating" when the engine is hot, somtimes u havto hold the key for like longer then usual and it starts very poorly and sounds like ****, when i give er **** in any gear i look in the rear view and if their is someone behind me i can see blue smoke in the headlights, that might be cuz my stock exhaust system is toast , but i dunno if this atf will do the trick, and how much does it actualy smoke, i live in like residential Culdesac

you can also try the water method

just take a vac line off hook some water up to it and make sure the motor keeps running while sucking that water in

I've heard about that water/vac line method. Is that safe though? It seems to me, that you are dilluting the fuel mixture, wouldn't that make your car run very lean? I guess if your just idling, it probably wouldn't hurt. But still, I don't see how water being sucked into the combustion chambers is going to clear out hardended carbon deposits.

just like steam cleaning

water can do some weird stuff for cleaning

and it is not going to make you run lean. if anything it would prevent detonation b/c it reduced the temps inside the combustion chamber by quite a bit. they even have water injection kits for cars that help with preventing detonation... but also the guys that use the water injection from what it sounds like it also keeps there motor nice and clean

and it works a lot better and quicker then the ATF method

Yeah, i did the water trick a few times, works great, seems to clean things out pretty well. Just be careful of it wanting to stall out, keep your revs up. Run a search on "water injection" you will see alot of **** like "using water instead of ATF" i think was the name of one of them.

just pull a vac line from the dynamic chamber and put it in some water and just let the motor suck the water up into the intake
keep the revs up so the car doesn't stall
real easy to do
