Good wire size for additional grounding?

I'm troubleshooting a miss at high rpm on the freeway that gets worse as boost increases and am going to try running a wire from neg. post to chassis for starters if it's not fuel filter or plugs.

Also, I noticed what looks like a black ground wire going from my firewall slightly at the passenger side of center to where? I want to clean those contacts but can't really see below the ABS unit too well. Does anyone know where this ground wire attaches down below?

If I run one from neg. post to engine where exactly is a good spot on the engine that I can see?

You can run a 4 gauge monster cable to the engine hook behind the alternator. No measurable difference in resistance was detected the last I checked.

8 AWG for runs up to 17ft is suppose to be good for 80A of current. Id say 1 or 2 8's bundled together going for a run of 1 to 2 feet would be sufficient

An extra bolt on the slotted part of the alt bracket always worked for me. I also went 8 awg to just below the strut tower (bolt holding the fuse bracket) and then from there to the block (alt bracket)
