ive always been told that dual is a much better choice over single. thats why i bought mine and its sweet. true dual all the way out. i bought the entire exhaust system from mazatrix.com. it came with rb header pre-silincers and your choice of rb or hks mufflers. i got the hks but if your going for loud the rb is what you want.

yes it will still sound like a rotary.

dual is pimp IMO, if you could go w/ true duals you might see some signicant power gains.

your going to want a louder stero. I had 2.5" duals into 4" echo chanbers and even normal driving iw was very loud. When I would really get on it I could not hear my own strero. My stero was nothing fancy though.

Get mufflers.

Trust me. After 6 months of it EVERYDAY with the backfiring and loud lawnmower-sounding exhaust, you will want it to be muffled a bit.

You can be heard for blocks with a presilencer and mufflers. You can be heard for MILES without them. I was running an open header for a while, and my parents could hear me for several minutes (1-2 miles) even inside the house.

Unbolt the stock exhaust at the manifold and put a straight pipe out the passenger side.

Mine has a huge exhaust leak right at where the pipe hooks to the manifold and it's annoying as hell.

Oh man i ran open headers on my NA for a while, and its cool for like 30 seconds. Its SOOOO loud, but its not really a rotary sound...its hard to explain. SO MUCH NOISE. alot from the sound hitting walls and trees and echoing back to you. loud fosho but doesnt sound good.

One of the prvieous FC's I had I wanted to make something stupid loud...so I put a 2.75" wide mandrel 90* bend off the stock manifold and ran it through a cut-out in the pass fender right behind the front wheel...it was exceptionally cool to look at and sounded cool for about 3 minutes. From a distance it sounded like 12 really pissed off rexes coming to eat something...

If you want to do something that'll just annoy people then get a couple of 15" or bigger thumpers and drive around town playing bad music at 450db...it seems to be a really effective tool used by the thug/wigger crowd in my neck of the woods.

You can have good sound or immense volume but not both. Sorry.

If you want to do it yourself and want good sound, stick with the stock manifold, ditch the cats, get a pre-silencer of some variety, use a quality canister muffler, and plumb it all in a single exit 2.5" exhaust. You'll have a good balance between expense, sound, and volume.
