OR Is this a good body kit?

Hi,

I came across an ad here for a full body kit for FC. Thinking about getting this for the 88 vert. Does anyone have any experience with this or can anyone suggest any good suppliers?

Thanks a lot!

David

If your familiar with fiberglass kits, then you know what to expect, sometimes you need to put in work.

not very familiar with fiberglass; do they break easily or what type of work are we talking about?

The body kit looks good on the little white FC picture below your comment; do you know where I can get the exact same one?

thanks

Try that, JTP has good stuff and what not

Fiberglass tends to crack and break easier but is lighter compared to FRP bodykits, FRP is just fiberglass but reinforced with resin and can be easily repaired with (zipties, resin patch up kits, etc..) compared to the fiberglass counterpart which tends to be more complicated. If you were to buy a bodykit for drifting go with FRP or Polyurethane if its just a Daily Driver or show car of some sort fiberglass would be good, in my opinion of course

FRP (fiber reinforce plastic) and fiberglass are the same thing--glass fiber cloth or matt reinforcing epoxy resins.
Most kits require at least some fitting and modification to look decent.

get the kit from JTP, I own that car now that is in the pics... Its a decent kit.. I broke the rear bumper and got a cheapass replacement from somewhere else and it sucks compared to what was on there before.

You can do it yourself, dont be intimidated.. Just takes some patience to get rid of all the kinks in the fitment, trial and error.

If you got the patience, then I say drive the car with the bodykit unpainted for a while, this will allow you to work out all the potential problems with it, like you will see if some places here or there need more trimming or reinforcement etc.

This is a really good forum for fiberglass, go to the Automotive Exterior forum , you will learn alot from seeing other people's threads.
