I'm curious as to what your definition of fabbing is and what you can do.

You can probably tell, but did it all myself. Didn't cut the frame or the radiator support and kept my power steering. Doesn't look the best but it works good.

Everything is bolted in so in the future I could take it all out and go back to stock.

I meant can you weld, do you own a TIG or a MIG, a plasmacutter, are you comfortable letting large pieces of metal fall from you car to the floor to be kicked into a corner and never seen again but yet you would need to build supports back into the car but have mounts on them as well to bolt intercoolers or radiators too?

Thanks! I do all the work myself now. Bought a MIG welder and figured out how to use it....with the help of a friend of mine we have made everything on the car this time around. 20B was unnecessary for the power goals for my class so I got rid of it

I will be tuning in Santa Ana on Thursday, you are welcome to come, send me a PM.

i cant really weld, ive only done it once, but my dads friend is going to sho me and guide me through it all.

thats why i wanted to see how ppl have done the v-mount set ups to see what im really getting my self into to. and yes im prepared to cut large pieces of metal and making new supports and brackets.

i wanna learn how to do this all my self. itll only help me further my skills and knowledge. this is the only im going to learn, through trail and error, and its gonna take a lot of pratice but itll pay off in the end.

thanks again for the links

I don't think the FC puts out high enough oil pressure for the FD style coolers.

The FC oil cooler is pretty damn good. Alot of FC racecars I know use the stock cooler, or two of them, or an additional cooler plus the stock cooler.

If you aren't planning on beating on your car on a racetrack one stock cooler will be fine.

In my opinion ducting is key to a successful v-mount setup, seperate paths directing to the radiator and to the intercooler.
I plan on using twin FD coolers, mainly because there is no room for the factory oil cooler anymore.

Intercooler positioning was determined by where the vent was on the bonnet and pretty much everything else was fabricated around that

I took the opposite approach. I got my intercooler exactely where I wanted it - as close to the motor as possible. I'll be building my hood around the intercooler.

If this is your first or second attempt at welding, I'd find a few more projects first. There is going to be alot of aluminum welding as well as sheet metal to thick metal. It ain't for the faint of heart.
