I take it this in on a NA, right? Well a street port will help you out alot. If thats out of the question you will need N2O. With a header, intake, exhaust, removed power steering, a/c, air pump and everything you might get like 160-170 to the wheels if this is a S4. 250fwhp=215rwhp basically. Its almost impossible to get that out of a non-ported NA. You'd be really lucky to get 200rwhp honestly.

Fairly close...I just was there a few hours ago to pick up a tranny for my friends NA. Why do you ask?

you could hit 250 on a bridge port easily... but you wouldn't be able to keep the revs down in stop and go traffic.

I'm not exactly sure how much power I'm putting down but my hybrid na/t2 SP is a very potent motor.

Im planning on a rebuilding my S4 with S5 rotors, T2 center housing and T2 exhaust sleeves, with a mega streetport. It should be done by spring. Im kinda anxious to see what kinda power she'll make.

Blvd of the roses? I never actually heard of that, is it a big road or is there another name for it? Thats like 15-20 mins from me anyways, only because its a busy part of town. Did you go to clearwater beach when you were here?

Rxmfn7, Just remember not to port the exaust down (advance the opening of the port) too much and you'll have a very potent motor. I have the same thing without the higher comp lighter rotors and its a blast to drive. 60-100mph in third never losing pull and hitting the 100 mark before you get around a semi doing it. Fun times ahead!

Sweet Any idea on your 1/4 times or HP? Also, Im planning on staying with the S4 IM, even though I will be able to rev higher with the S5 rotors. Do you think this is wise? The S4 manifold is better on ported engines, which is my basis for keeping it.

you won't make 250 on an N/A with out making it a bitch to drive on the street.. probably need a bridgeport. street port won't get you 250

Hey scott, Have you looked at the renesis pics yet?? I don't think you have.... I'll give you a hint though. it's a 6 port na motor! 285bhp nuff said

The s4 intake is the way to go. The runners are longer and larger than the s5's. The 100mph wall I hit in 3rd is due to my fuel pump runing out of juice at 8100. When I can feed her I'm thinking I can get another 10mph out of the gear. HP figures... nothing but speculation right now. Somewhere over 200 at the wheels. Kinda hard to say exactly. I'm running with stock cars rated at mid 13's right now but I cant lauch hard because of shitty rubber. I can leave dual 14' patches of rubber from dumping the clutch at 10mph. (I have a lsd) She turns them over if you try and launch it hard with the revs over 2700 on dry pavement.

Cool, Id like to hit a 14.0 in the 1/4 staying N/A, thats my goal. Do you have an upgraded fuel pump, and do you need larger secondaries? Would you mind posting your mod list, just so I can see what all you have? Im also planning on a FB gear swap for the tranny, to go along with a 9lb flywheel and my ACT clutch. I cant wait, should be pretty damn quick for a N/A

rx8 is ony 250... maybe only 225 now and it's 15 years newer then yours...

the most I've seen on here is 176 at the wheels... that was with big street port, ported manifolds, pinapple sleaves, true dual exhast etc.

take it to the dyno. I bet you will be disapointed like everyone else with N/A's is

The renisis was rated at 280HP for the J-spec version, around 247 I think for US. That doesnt matter though, I dont have a renisis so I dont care Im just trying to build up a decently fast N/A, thats all. I like trying things out, pushing the limit. Maybe I can break 13s in a N/A, maybe I can't. I just want to try.....

Ya I think 200rwhp is the complete maximum(not even possible with every car) with every single mod you can do to an NA without going drastic. And the renesis has 250fwhp, or roughly 213rwhp.

Scott, You seem to think I have an old motor or something... I have 3K miles on my engine right now. Pretty damn fresh if you ask me. The renesis uses a different port geometry and side ports for the exhaust. Thats the only fundamental difference in the two engines. With the 4 port intermediate housing and side ports that make mazdatrix templates look tame combined with port matched and opened up lower intake manifold and totally open 2.5" exhaust stuffed into a 2400lb car with an experienced driver, (long enough sentance yet? I happen to think that breaking the 200hp mark not only is possible, but very likely the case right now and I pull 13's against other 13 second cars. Anyone wanting me to prove it is more than welcome to come race me. I'll take donations for dyno runs too because I still don't have the $$$ for my fuel pump. I'll probably break 12's when I can actually wind her out to 10K without fuel starvation.

250 I think would be possible . But you are talking about some serious cash. If you have a S4 take the motor out and throw it away. Start with a S5, large street port (min), T2 rotor housings, rotors lightened, clearance, fully balanced (with both the front and rear counter weight), and snap ringed, light weight flywheel, 85 13 E-Shaft or mod the oil bypass pellet (or buy one like from FC3s/org), race rotor bearings, hardened stationary gears with race bearings, might as well get the MFR oil pump, header and full exhaust (probably the true dual from mazdatrix), port the intake manifold w/extruhone, pineapple racing 5th and 6th port sleeves, throw away the factory ECU and go Haltech, Microtech, etc, bigger injectors, upgraded fuel pump, no smog, no acc except alt. And pray that gets you there if not you are going to have to take the motor apart again and rebuild it with a bigger port.
The fun things about the N/A’s is they are quick, rev quick, and are a more all around sports car. They are not the massive power making machines. To be honest I don’t even know if that set up above will work for 250 hp the intake and the 5th 6th ports are working against ya. You would probably have to go with a 4 port and do a carb style EFI or just go carbs. You damn turbo people have me defeated .
