Question Geerbox spindle & spring question ???

I have taken the select lock-spindle and springs out of the geerbox and don't know how they go back together relating to the steel ball and bolt. Could somebody help me out? Thanks

It looks really simple but I just can't figure out how it goes. Any help would be appreciated.

It's hard to explain - the book says it better.
Both the Haynes book & the FSM helped me get mine together.
I have a link in my sig below

You have to look close, but this should help.

As you assemble it, check that you can push one (& only one) rod in & out of gear at a time.
