Gear Oil

Does anyone know where to put the gear oil in the transmission?
I can't find the tube that leads to the tranny?

should be a bolt...

there should be a square bolt on the side of the transmission where you can put the gear oil in...i believe it's on the driver side of the trans. i had to get a hand pump in order to fill it up.

What kind of gear oil should be used for the transmission? I need to have the fluid changed.

i use mobil 1 or royal purple synthetic

i think the weight is 75w-90...it's the most common one. ime, you can really feel the difference when you shift between dino and synthetic gear oil.

Definitely use a Synthetic like Redline, Synergyn, AmsOil, Etc. Like John said, you can really feel the difference.

If you can't get of afford synthetic

Make sure you use GL4, not GL5. The Sulfate in GL5, I've read, does a bad number on your syncro's.

If you do go Synthetic, absolutly go Red Line or Royal Purple. The Valvoline or Mobil stuff is also bad for your syncro's. I learned that the hard way several sets of syncro's ago.
Icemark is a great reference on this subject.
