Gauges!

89-91 N/A Glow Gauges on eBay.
I have those, but for my 87 T2. I really like them. The white and blue match the white pain and blue interior.

My experience with the glow gauges...
Fitment is fine...do NOT remove the indicator needles to install, the face will slide over the needles and onto the gauge.
You'll end up wanting to paint the indicator needles so you may as well do it the first time. White needles on a white gauge= fail.

Ultimately I found these to be unsatisfactory.
They don't really come close to duplicating the look of real, factory installed glow faces.
In hindsight, this could be due to the stock RX front gauge lighting (which I had left intact) but overall, I just thought they looked cheezy.
The dimming rheostat that comes with these kits is junk...they are either full bright or off, there didn't seem to be much middle ground.
Also, the transformers (I think that's what they are) are dodgy...mine failed within a month. You can buy replacements on eBay (tells you how often they fail...),which I did before deciding to pull the whole thing out.
Be aware that you'll have to do a bit of cutting on the gauge cluster to make reliefs for the wiring to escape. A Dremel makes this easy.
All in all, I didn't think they were worth it.
In fact, when I switched back I thought the stock faces with the newly painted needles was the best setup of all...

Definitely NOT!
Don't even try, you'll just trash the cluster.
I masked off everything- and you must be very gentle doing so- and painted in situ.
The gauge mechanisms- especially the tach and speedo- are quite delicate and must be handled with care.

Was it worth the time ot paint the needles? do you have to use special paint? Fill me in please. im NOT an artsy craftsy kinda person.
I used Florescent Red spray paint from a local hobby shop (Testors was the brand, I think).
Masking was pretty straightforward, just notebook paper with a slit to clear the needles and electrical tape to mask the boss of the needle.
I used electrical tape cause it leaves a clean edge and no residue.
