Angry Gauge problems!!

I've been having problems with my gauges. The gas gauge sits below empty and doesn't move, and the oil pressure goes up and down more than i'm used to (could be me), and now the fuel warning light goes on and dims out and brightens up back and forth but i JUST put in a full tank of gas and it didnt' help.... what could be the simplest and most complicated of problems? Thanks in advance!

I fixed my gauge problems by removing the gauge cluster, and cleaning the contacts. Its not hard. My fuel gauge started working after that.

No, its not hard to remove... I did it without the manual. getting the speedo cable off was the hardest. Once the contacts were clean, my gauges started working

Hrmm sounds good. If I go to get it diagnosed should I have them fix that or just do it myself. Would it be a waste of money to get them to fix it you think?

Man, do it yourself... Whats the worst that can happen? You put it all back together and it still doesnt work.

Get a haynes or chiltons. Do the work yourself. Icouldnt believe it when my fuel gauge started working again.

hrmm i heard that one. I think I'll go for it. And while we're at it... why the hell does my gas tank overflow BEFORE it's full? Could it have to do with my gas not registering with the gauges or warning lights... What could It be.....
