Talking Gasket Maker

I need to replace the gasket for my water pump. Does anyone know if a high temp gasket maker tube will be sufficient???

Ok...Exactly what answer did you want? Sure gasket maker *might* work, until it fails when you're on the highway dumping coolant everywhere.

Make shure that you put shims on the outer two bolts between the WP housing and the front Iron.. (not the four where the water channel is) as thick as the gaskett.

I hardly ever use gaskets, I use RTV instead. Never had a problem...

^ Yea, that spot was bad on mine as well with just a gasket. I had to pull all the stuff in the front of the engine off to get to it....and broke those damn OMP lines in the process. You can put the gasket in there but use the RTV as well.

has anyone use any other sealents with good results besides the copper stuff? i have some super black and a bunch of Hondabond 4 (aka super grey, i use the stuff alot building motors). I've used the grey on non mazda waterpumps before with good results, but maybe it different on mazdas... or maybe i'm just dumb
