There exists a somewhat pricy medical surgery known as LFR in which they replace your heavier, lead based foot, with one made of plastic. It is costly, but will save you heaps in the long run!

For some reason I didn't think I had a heavy foot, and I thought something was wrong cause I get like 220miles to a tank on a average day, but after I installed my a/f gauge in my gauge pod I noticed that closed loop only occurs at -10 to -15 vac on my boost gauge, so I'm exclerating very slowly, but exclerating, and can do this no problem at 80 mph, but at 60 its very hard to maintain the same speed and go into a closed loop.....

hmm I think those could improve you gas mileage:
new air filter
new fuel filter
new plugs and wires

and if you're rich, an S-AFC!

A CDI box was worth about 50 kms extra to a tank with my car. I've heard this is normal.
That'd pay for itself in a year at current prices, and it adds horsepower.

It leans out your fuel mixture so you get better fuel economy by not spraying in as much gasoline. It will also make more power.

A CDI box would be a better alternative.

I think it adds around...5 or so..not sure tho, i think it may be higher. Its like this litel controller, and you can fine tune the air, and fuel mixture..I think

CDI box is a capacitive discharge ignition.

It is a Capacitive discharge ignition. Examples are a Crane HI-6 and an MSD 6-AL.

It works by increasing your spark energy and firing the spark plugs in succession, rather than once, below 3000 rpm. Above 3000, you just get one single powerful spark. This change in spark increases the combustion of fuel. The Jacobs version claims it can increase fuel combustion from 70% up to 99%, but I am a little skeptical of those numbers.

Again, I got an extra 50 kms per 16 gallons. That's 30 miles. These are typical results I have been told.

Don't expect more than 1-2 horspeower. However, do expect a smoother, steadier idle, smoother revs, and better fuel economy.

That would be a fuel controller, like an S-AFC. This controls the amount of fuel injected from your fuel injectors so that you can adjust your A/F ratio while keeping the stock ECU. It is a piggy-back tunable device, one step below an all-out FMS.

A CDI box controls spark.

Summit racing has them. Jeg's has them too for 5 cents more on both.
www.summitracing.com
PN: MSD-6200 for $149.95 for an MSD 6A box.

Here's some more info on them:

i got a crane cams HI-6. good for about 2mpg, which is fairly significant, going from 13 to 15 mpg. it's paid for itself in gas savings already. i usually get around 325k on a tank in my 87 T2

Check your cats and mufflers.

I used to barely make 18mpg with my car. Now with the bonez cat and RB mufflers I am up to 20mpg. Same drive to work and if anything I drive it harder now. Better performance and better gas millage.

Same here, when I put on my custom exhaust I got like 270 to the tank compared to the 230 before. Still kinda sux though! Ithink my car is running very rich to be getting 15 mpg.
