Gas gauge...

Hello, I am posting because my fuel gauge is highly inaccurate. I mean, when I top off my car w/ gas, the gauge will only say 3/4 full. And when I step on the gas pedal, the gauge will drop significantly; however, I can ride below the empty line for a while, well over 50miles as I tested last night on the way to work. Also, my low fuel light never comes on... How might I fix this problem. Any help appreciated. Thanks very much.

Float arm in the gas tank? Can I get to it from inside the car, like the fuel pump?

The FSM (http://www.teamfc3s.org/main/factory_service_manual/) details how to relieve the fuel pressure and remove the pump. Mazdatrix sells new fuel level senders and floats. About $89 for S4s and $115 for S5s.
