I had one before. It was okay but not very accurate, every car I've seen and been in that had one and watched do runs would later go to the track and usually get slightly slower times.

It's a really good tool. I don't think the hp function is all that accurate, but everything else is good. It's no replacement for the dyno or actual race track, but it's nice for "street" tuning the car in a safe area.

They're pretty accurate if you set them up properly, if you get a nice FLAT spot and mount it properly it'll read pretty accurate in 1/4's, HP is always a little strange, because if you do it when shifting/etc it'll screw up. What I generally do is get rolling and then ease into the throttle until I hit 3rd and then I wind it out, that's been the most accurate so far for me.

That never worked for me for some reason, it always averaged out almost a half a second different from a nice flat area, perhaps it was because my damned passanger always kept adjusting it to 0 at the end instead of leaving it in the same place?

I've found it to be at the very least, something good for detecting a problem.
I did a run with my car (it's a 3rd gen, though) and the numbers were pitifully low -- like HP was at 195RWHP... I can't remember the 1/4 too well.. anyway, I thought it was the GTECH. Anyway, I got it dyno'ed and sure enough, RWHP came out at 195RWHP... turned out I had a bad ignition wire.... replaced the wire, and HP went to 275.
Also, I did a run after getting it fixed... here was the number: 1/4 mile: 13.92
I did some runs at the strip... I got a 13.8...
So not so bad... pretty good, actually!
