This is just FYI. As you may know, the left (FB01-45-370D) and right (FB01-45-380E) rear brake steel lines are NLA from Mazda. BTW, these part numbers will fit all 2nd gen trim lines. Last fall, I tried to fabricate my rear brake lines using prefabbed 12" and 48" NiCopp lines that I bought from NAPA auto parts. These lines are short, especially the left side, which made them difficult to bend. The lines that I made fit okay after some manhandling, but didn't match to original lines too well.

I decided to send my original lines to Classic Tube (www.classictube.com) in Lancaster, NY and have them duplicate my original lines. The original Mazda lines are 5mm coated steel with M10x1.0 mm fittings with inverted flares at the ends. Classic made for me Green Zinc/Aluminum coated 3/16" steel lines. They offered a choice of materials such as 304 SS and OEM steel. Classic has a process where they use a lidar to scan the lines and obtain the exact original dimensions. They than input these dimensions into a CNC tube bending machine, which replicates the original lines. Also, nowadays they use Gravel Guard in place of the outdated rubber heat shrink to protect the tube from stones and other debris. They charged me $159 including FedEx shipping for the two lines. Thanks for posting this. I thought that your work looked pretty good on your lines. Most of mine were pretty pitiful. In fairness I hand bent my lines. The short ones looked decent.
Hopefully, they saved the scans so I can just order a set when I am ready. I saved mine too just in case something like this came up.

 

No, they didn't save the dimensional scans. I mentioned this to the sales manager at the company, but he said they could not due to the company having too many data files on storage. He said that if somebody needs new lines, than they'll need to send their old lines in. BTW, their turnaround was about a week and shipping was reasonable since the volume of the package was reasonably sized.

 

This conversation about not saving scans seems like dejavu.
