Brakes lines

Well, I'm looking at overhauling my brake system, and I've got a few questions. First of all, what are the best brakes lines to go with? I've heard SS lines break and are not reliable. I had a friend telling me something about plastic lines instead of metal, and that they are the way to go. Anyone know about these plastic lines?

I think what your friend might be speaking of is a Teflon Sheathed SS brake line. It may appear to be plastic on the outside but inside it is not. It's how all the Japanese lines are and now a few other companies. Goodridge does it as OEM for other companies.

I believe this is what he's talking about and we got em:

We do the front and rear set for $126.00 plus shipping.

We also have the Endless Swivel SS Lines which have the same type of sheath. You can really see the quality in these lines. They are about another $175.00 plus shipping. We have those on special. i'll have to see if we have any left but those are at a great value.

That's what I'm wondering if he was talking about those lines. The thing is though, these are for my Ford Probe, so I'm not quite sure what else is out there. From what I remember, the reason the SS lines break is because they get chipped from rocks and debris and wear out and the blow out. Now that I think of it, if they're Teflon sheathed, you wouldn't have to worry about that nearly as much.

Yo i'm selling a bunch of brand new parts from my Ford Probe GT 1993 model. Headers, suspension stuff, all kinds of crap. I just gave the car to my folks and have no reason to put the parts on it. No brake lines tho.

Peace, Rishie

Sadly, my car is a 90 GT, so I've got the 1G body style and the 2.2 turbo engine, so all the parts will probably be different.
