Stainless steel lines???
Hey guys, this is kindof relative but has been bothering me since I found out.
I ordered the stainless steel clutch line from Mazdatrix a few weeks ago, and they work great, but I was pulling my old line out and noticed that it was the same braided steel lines underneath a rubber insulating material. Are the OEM lines all stainless steel? even the brake lines???
Are stainless steel brake lins a waste of money?? I mean, besides looks.
Do the OEM insulated lines help keep the Hydraulics working better than the pretty/bling stainless lines? (Heat related)

Oh, That cool. I didn't cut them all the way open, it just looked like the same exact meterial as in the stainless lines that I ws installing.
I haven't cut open any brake lines, But I had to make sure it wasn't just for bling.

i see the Mazdatrix unit is $18 for the FC's... is this a pretty good unit or is there something else out there thats better?
im just worried about paying $18 and having the Swaged fitting leak on me or and end fall off completely. $18 seems like about all id pay in parts at the local Hydraulic shop... whats the catch?

lets see. how dumb do you have to be to pass up the ss line when the stainless line is the EXACT SAME PRICE as the regular line?
thats like saying... should i buy a yugo or a ve gti?? hm... their the same price.
smon now. just buy it and slap it on. if you get too indepth about how **** works or weather or not its a good deal or not, then you wont get nowhere. half the fun about modifieing you car is learning as you go.

lets get this straight chief; RX7 = low priority. Supras = high priority. i will go the extra mile to save a buck on my RX7 in order to spend it on my Supra.
there is no reason to buy the first thing i see because with my luck, ill see it cheaper somewhere else.
and with my follow up statement about me wanting mazdatrix to be open on the weekends, that infers that i DO plan to spend the $18 on their SS line which conclusivly states that im NOT so cheap that i will pass up this product. this in turn makes your post absolutely assinine. but thanks

i like both cars equally for different reasons. the RX7 does what the supra cant do, and vice versa. my RX7 cant lay down 500rwhp on 15psi and pumpgas, and the supra cant out-brake and out corner the FC.
Derk, funny that you mention that ground wire. when i had my manifolds off, i found that ground wire just chillin on top of the bellhousing. for the first 2 years i had my car, there was nothing connected to that grounding tab on the firewall, near the VIN... now there is.

yeah, i only saw the SS and the stocker... there wasnt any mention of coverings. but i was just thinking about that the other night anyways. for any SS lines that i buy which do not include a vinyl sheath, i can just wrap them liberally in electrical tape. it would keep out the dirt and grime as well as prevent the line from chafing anything it comes in contact with. eh?

Ours have colored rubber coatings on them. Clear, black, blue, and red are availible should you want one with a coating.

Out of pure laziness and mazdatrix being firewalled here at work, do they make a stainless steel line for the Slave Cylinder? My rubber one is torn up and I can see that wirey **** that's inside. I think it's leaking fluid because I can't get the clutch bled right, and then it just drops to the floor after a few pumps. Going from the Master Cylinder, that metal line is fine, I need something to replace the one from that metal flange to the slave cylinder. From the firewall mount to the slave cylinder. There, think I was specific enough =)
