Fuel Sensor

The meter/ gauge whatever you wanna call it in the cluster told me I was at a 1/2 tank, which was odd since I drove 184mi since my last fill up.

I recently installed my walbro, so could that little black box have gotten stuck where it would show that I'm at a 1/2 tank or could it be a connection problem with the cluster.

Another bit of info, when installing my fuel pump I ended up trading my 87T2 fuel pump assembly for an 87 sport, Dan H can confirm this, could thesensor be different between these two models?

Thanks for any input.

This site indicates the two are the same: http://www.mazdatrix.com/c-pump.htm

Maybe take the pump out and raise and lower the float to see if the gauge moves?

Yeah, check the box if it snagged on something down there. The fuel pump assembly I gave you is from an 87T2, so it should be identical. Got rid of my 87 Sport a long time ago.

Well after awhile of neglecting this little imperfection, I finally took the time to really take a look at it. My super cool girlfriend was present and when she looked into the tank, she noticed the little rectangle in the fuel tank and just told me that the sensor was resting on top of the rectangle in there. So with her help, I put in the fuel pump assembly without it resting on anything and wow.... I got 120 mi out of this tank.

BEST VALENTINE'S DAY EVER!
