fuel regulator choices
hey guys i have a series 4 rx7 im looking to make between 300hp and 350hp so im upgrading the fuel system, i have been looking at the sard, tomei, turbosmart and malpassi fpr and have noticed they have different fittings -6an,-8n some have 2 fittings some have 3, wondering whether one better suits a rotary, on ausrotary a guy has a malpassi high rise rate reg for sale, would this be adequate
The regulators with 3 fittings are better suited for a parallel fuel system like this:

The stock system is an inline setup, in which a regulator with 2 fittings will work fine. If you use one with 3 fittings on an inline setup then you will need to plug one of the fittings.
Although I have an aerospace bias, I think the Aeromotive and SX regulators are the best. I especially like the added dampening function of their diaphragms.
Rule of thumb for fuel injection:
5/16" OD Tube (AN -5 fittings) for up to 300bhp
3/8" OD Tube (AN -6 fittings) for up to 500bhp
1/2" OD Tube (AN -8 fittings) for up to 1000bhp
The Aeromotive catalog also has a power planner section to help you choose a fuel system for a given hp range.
Also, most regulators are intended to use an ORB (O-Ring Boss) fitting as opposed to a flared AN or JIC fitting, so verify the required fitting before buying these expensive parts.

technically it should still apply, since the differences are minor just that aftermarket RRFPRs are better suited for higher boost applications, say beyond 14-15psi and much higher volume fuel pumps.
