Fuel Pump not turning on

Fuel Pump not turning on

My fuel pump is not turning on when i crank the car. it looks like its not getting any power. i know it works, cause i ran a full 12v directly to it and it kick in. What could be causing it not to turn on????

How long have you had this car? Is there a fuel cut switch installed (maybe by the previous owner)?

Possible its the ENGINE fuse in the crew compartment.

Possible its circuit opening relay under the dash.

Possible that you don't know the fuel pump does not run just because the key is turned to ON.

i've had the car for over a year. Theres not a fuel pump cut switch, but since i am having this problem, i was thinking about putting one in, would that be ok to put one in or would it only prlong the problem.??

it woudln't help you if the pump stays off anyways...


jump the plug by the pass shock tower and turn the key to on and see if it comes on.

i've already check the fueses, they are all good. i have even replaced the circut opening relay. Out of curiosity i even changed the computer i thought it might be a transistor in the computer but it wasn't that..

it does come on i all ready ran a wire from the battery to the pulg and it did come on

Go up a couple of threads and re-read Scott92. The plug is near the righthand strut tower. Yellow in color. Two sockets. Jumper with a piece of wire that's bare on each end. Turn the key to ON. Listen for the whirrr.
