I have a good lead on a fuel tank to send to CJ Motorsports.
he is asking if there are 5-6 committed people to the project.
I asked him if that was a verbal thing or deposits- im finding out.
Meanwhile if anyone is serious please let me know otherwise Im not going to buy and ship a tank to him for no reason.

seems to be the same. Most likely offer it the same way- no pumps, choice of pump/pumps, an fittings or barb fittings. Connector will be the same racetronix bulkhead connector for the wiring. Have to re-use your fuel sender.

its not a group buy its getting enough people to commit so he will develop it for our cars
if you guys are in that would make 4 of us then maybe a 5th would jump in
Will they pay for shipping? Will they return my tank? I have a spare S5 tank from a '91 TII. The things pretty big to be shipping but if it helps and doesn't put my in the red, I'll do it.
Get a little more info on the price range and then I'll commit. I'm currently using a modified stock hanger with a 400lph walbro with -8AN feed and -6AN return bulkheads and 10awg to the pump.

Same pricing as FD unit FD RX7 Twin Fuel Pump Assembly
You can obviously order with no pumps and reuse what you have if you already have new pumps
Yes im also running bulkhead fittings and fuel safe cable gland for wiring but wanted a new lid thats not rusty paper thin and with better wiring options

I also have no more soft hose with my in tank 044 pump, and upgraded the wire to the pump as well.

The external sump might be my winter project!
Not to derail, but since it got brought up...
Rob, I don't race so I am ignorant on the subject but, what is the point of routing the outlet and return lines out of the sump instead of leaving them in the stock location? You already have to fab up a way to move the fuel pickup into the sump and for the life of me can't think of any advantage of rerouting the lines.
Like I said, ignorant on the subject.

sump puts the fuel at the bottom of the tank, gravity works with you on this and the sump is also baffled to eliminate fuel starvation
The sump I put in has 1/2" fittings so if you run big HP you can plumb large fuel lines without any issues. You also run external pumps so you are no longer limited to what you can shove down through the top.
For a street car its not needed, for my car its really not needed but if I upgrade my turbo I will max out my single in-tank bosch 044 pump on E85 so I will then have to run a second pump.
I sumped my tank because it was out during my undercarriage restoration so it just made sense to do it now even though I will just have them plugged up for the time being.
I also welded over the charcoal canister connection on the top and welded over the factory drain plug in the bottom because whenever I drained fuel I was praying the threads would hold and not end up with a leak.
guys who race their cars like to use sump or surge tanks to eliminate fuel starvation, but again for regular street driving its one of those things you do because you are doing other things anyhow and it just makes sense to upgrade it at that time.
