Fuel pump cradle

Does anyone make an aftermarket solution for the FC?
I seen this for the first time today, the lid does look pretty close to our FCs, but its a surge tank says you must use another pump.

You can just use a universal external one:

Is yours damaged? If all your looking for is doing an upgrade like bigger pump with bigger lines? That is not too hard to do. You would just chop off the fuel inlet and outlet and buy new fittings to run the new lines

I am currently fabricating a similar design with an E85 450lph but I plan on retaining the fuel level gauge assembly.

I can post pictures when complete.

I currently have a submerged bosch 044 pump on the factory cradle.
I have taken everything out of the undercarriage and cleaned, blasted, powder coated or painted it. New bushings, mounts, brake and fuel lines, the works. Took the tank out as well, cleaned it, powdercoated it.
I have bulkhead fittings to run my new fuel lines but i would prefer to use a new hanger which mazda does not sell and as far as i can tell no one makes any solutions for an FC. I honestly dont want to invest anything else into That thin piece of rusted stamped steel that is there now.

Nikewankel- what is your plan are you hand cutting a piece of steel or a cnc alum?
Im waiting for the dimensions of the coachman unit because i want to be able to still pull it out from the trunk and not have to cut a larger hole in my trunk to do so.

I too have a bosch 044 pump in the factory cradle. Its a "crude" setup IMO. I would be in for a GB if CJ motorsports would be interested in making a set for the FC3S, otherwise, I will be using a surge tank at some point...

I just bought a combination of AN fittings that I believe will eliminate any rubber hose ( which is slightly offset as im sure you are aware of ) in the tank and bulkhead fittings that I will have to drill the lid out to use.
I know they have submersible hose but I already burst one on the dyno luckily I was not driving and get stranded or under boost while on the dyno.
Im having a sump welded in my tank while its out, I could cut and weld something into the top of the tank as well but I dont want to lose access to the pump and lines when its all installed back in the car

I'd be in for a GB as well if CJ did one for an FC. I've always liked the FD one and wished it would fit.

no way you are fitting 2 044 through the stock opening. there are smaller pumps these days but even a single pump set up with an fittings would be ****

ok I noticed on their facebook page this conversation in regards to the FD unit when someone asked if they would make one for an FC:

"We have not made one for the FC yet. If we could gather up 6+ guys who wanted one, and somebody could send me a stock sending unit... I am not opposed to making a batch of them! If its as simple to construct as the FD version, it would only take up to a month"

one of the guys interested seems to be right across the street from them this could work out well for us- so who is ready to go forward and commit?

We'd have to get a price before people would commit

I'd be up for one to feed the 20B if the price is right. Got a spare cradle around here somewhere too

I figured it would actually be a bit more since it would be a first/prototype run.

Wow! A++ on artistic... But holy hell I wouldn't want to be in that car during a collision! Ever seen a factory built car with fuel storage or plumbing on the cabin side of the chassis?? That surge can should be under the car or in the engine bay, not 12" behind the driver.

I installed mine couple of years ago, and honestly don't remember much of it, other than not loving the installation.

If I go sump, I would go with something like this Fuel Sump Kit - Full-Race.com and mount the 044 externally.

From what I saw on their site, if the price is like the one for the single 044 pump on the FD ($350) I am in, and can put a deposit now.

S5 tank little deeper, hanger same but has to compensate for deeper tank. Sender different but believe it mounts the same. Wiring the same.
