fuel pump bolts

Ok, I was going to replace the fuel pump last night, and came across a big issue. The little bolts (8) of them or how ever many there are where rusted. So I cleaned them of a good as I could by hand, and tried turnning them. No luck two of them almost instatly started to strip. I stopped there cause I didnt want them to brake seeing that Its my daily driver.
Does anyone know the size and dimension of these bolts? and what a good way to get these bolts out sence they are pretty rusted and will be stripped if attmepted to be removed?

I am talking about the little screws that go around the tank. its the second step in the Manuel after removing the two fuel lines. If that helps any?

Thanks for anyone who can give their advice.

Ps: changed the fuel filter and that was a pain in the rear too. those fuel lines were so tight on there. I had to cut them just to get if of and then just went and got new fuel line to replace it.

Most of the time when srews are rusted like that its easier to use an impact screwdriver but whe there stripped you can use vise grips with care! Its a pain but once you have them out you can go to lowes or home depot and get some stainless steel ones.

do you know the size and so on? I am just worried that the head will break off and the actual screw part will stay in the hole.

also ones that part is off , how hard ithe rest of the install? I got the walbor pump kit of ebay for 100 bucks . comes with the wiring and such. anything hard about the install or things I should know?

just be kinda careful pulling the whole fuel sending unit out so you dont mess up the float and then have no gas gauge. hate to do it but, if you still have an NA you prob didnt need a 255 pump and if it is a 255 your prob gonna need a fuel pressure regulator unless you dont care about gas mileage cause your gonna be rich

The new screws are available from mazda for 10-20 cents each. Snap away. Just apply a little grease to the heads after you install the new ones so you don't have the same problem again.

Crap, thought I had them ordered a couple months ago, but when I checked my records it doesn't look like I was charged for them. :P

I put in another order a few days ago, and I got the confirmation this time.

I hope I can start to offer them for sale in a couple weeks!

might try that. but then there is a chance of fumes from the fuel and spark from dremel. not sure if that s a good idea. we will see. thanks again.

I take it by eveyrone replying that its a pretty straight forward install.

thanks again.
