I myself am running a walbro 255lph.Seems like im having a bit of trouble with it.I am now looking at upgrading to "aeromotive" 340lph or a "bosch 044"...not saying there is anything wrong with walbro, but i would've saved money going bosch in the beginning!

Um...gold connectors 12g wire are you trying to run your mouth like a jerk? Get over yourself. Walbro 255 is a 100 dollar universal pump. Its a lot crappier than my aero Ipaid double that for. The 255 would suffice but Ijust threw out my second one in about 2 years. Just a friendly warning that's all.

yes i'm running my mouth like a jerk. S4 or S5? stock wiring up to the pump with factory relays? run the fuel level low regularly on hot days?
i even pulled a walbro from one car that sat for 5 years in a rotted out fuel tank, fuel sock melted, pump worked fine except it was wired up backwards(likely why the car sat for 5 years).
i hear these stories but have yet experienced even a single failure while pushing 20 volts through them, running 60psi+ extended time and more horsepower than they are rated to deliver at static voltages for years.
i'm also curious to see if these are real walbro units. i've subjected them to minimal and beyond maximum abuse where many other big names failed, knock on wood.

I want to upgrade my fuel pump and get an rtek 1.7 , the only real drawback of an authentic walbro is the loud whine it makes.
Other pumps from other cars to consider are the fd fuel pump and the supra tt fuel pump.
Ive got to do some research on all this before I do it, I may just run the stock ecu and fuel pump with 680cc gsl-se secondaries (flow same as 720cc) while my engine is being broken in, then upgrade once the break in is over.

one was in a cobalt ss i used to own. stock fuel system. thought i was "upgrading" but it obviously did nothing. went back to oem. this one is from my 87 gxl that i bought brand new from summit. it was wired via gold plated connectors and brand new 12g wire on the stock relay on an unmolested car.
the middle finger is for RE
heres my new setup on the old assembly (i ended up using the sock that came with the pump)
just get the aeromotive for the extra 50 bucks its worth it from my experience.

Not a good way of getting any kind of respect here kid. Walbros are a proven pump, I know of at least a dozen cars locally that have been running them for years, and the world record holding EVO X runs 2 and made 800hp on e85. You got a bad one, it happens with everything.

And why are you installing an Aeromotive pump on a non-turbo?
Many of the people on the forum are here trying to help out of the goodness of their hearts or boredome. Nobody owes you anything.
Edit: Oh yeah there was a question somewhere in there. I got mine off ebay for $100 with install kit. Pretty standard price. As noted above, they have done well to remove a lot of the fakes. The usual high pressure model people use is the GSS341.

LOL trying to help out my *****. This guy thinks he's the rotary queen so he can go talking about my work like that without even seeing it? Sounds to me like a ***** trying to brighten up his own miserable day. Walbro sucks and I know this first hand. I don't need the respect of some over charging cocky mail order princess to build this piece of crap for a drift event thanks but no thanks.

just making an attempt to get to the bottom of the walbro 'failure' stories. in this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...-help-1027690/ you admitted to having fuel starvation issues, which also means you were running pumps dry cornering hard on under 1/3 tank regularly with dirty pump socks.

the walbro failed in a week. The aero held up for 5 months. Explain that. Whatever dude I'm not getting into a pissing match over a stupid fuel pump. You got some nerve to talk to people like that who could've been a potential customer. I ain't right for posting a crude response and I admit that but really? Let's move on now...
