Question Fuel problems in TII?

In my Turbo II there seems to be some problems with the fuel delivery system

The only way we can get the engine running is by priming the engine with some gas, but it will only run with the primed gas then dies...

I'm wondering what things I should check to see where the fuel is not coming from, any ideas??

Find the green plug harness under the AFM and jumper the 2 sides. Then put the key to the ON position and listen to see if you hear the fuel pump kick on. If so you know thats getting power and probably not it. Change the fuel filter. Might wanna run some fuel injector cleaner too. See if any of this helps.

The fuel pump check connector is yellow and is located beside the RHS trut tower.

He is talking about the check connector, it doesn't get plugged into anything

If you jump the yellow two-prong connector, and turn the ignition to on, it should run the fuel pump.

Your right about it being yellow *d'oh* But it is under the AFM usually. I had to dig under stuff to find mine.

Not mine. Mine is on the side of the strut tower, right where the 88 FSM wiring diagrams and the Haynes Manual say it should be. It's quite high up and easy to get to.

I'm just curious, do you have an aftermarket turbo kit installed? If you do, another thing that could be wrong is maybe you are running too much boost. The stock 13B has the perfect fuel system if you are running between 8 and 12 psi, but if you run too much boost the fuel managemant system will not be able to keep up meaning you have a lean air/fuel mixture. Just a suggestion.

All you do is run a wire from one side of the connecter to the other. Its called a "jumper".

There has to be a good reason why your pump isnt coming on. Have you checked the obvious? Fuses? Etc?

could be your fuel pump resister relay, that is what happened to me. turned it off one night and then wouldnt go in the morning, and would only start if the engine was primed.

Check to make sure that your intake between your trbo and air sensor isn't cracked or broken. No vacuum to your sensor means your flapper door won't open. This will cause your engine to start and then die. Happened to me, quick and easy fix.
