Fuel Problem?
1988 RX7 convertible won't start. Cannot smell gas in engine compartment. I think fuel supply is the problem. What fuel sensors should I check?
It is more likely I think that you are flooded, so try to de-flood before other further diagnosis.
First of all check all fuses in the engine bay. Then proceed to the less likely sources.
You can check each part of the fuel system methodically one by one. First, you can verify that the pump is working by jumping the two pin yellow check connector near the airbox and turning the key to IGN. You should hear it whirring away in the back. If there is no whirring, your fuel pump is suspect. If you hear the whirring move on to the injectors.
Have a friend crank the engine while you listen over the engine bay for the clicking noise of the injectors. If there is no clicking at all, I would suspect the ECU or maybe the resistor box as it is unlikely both injectors would fail at one time. If you hear one clicking (which can be hard to tell sometimes) it is possible you are getting no flow on one rotor. However, it should still start and maybe idle on one rotor.
After that, I would check spark on all four plugs. Report back with results and we can try to diagnose.
