fuel line question

the high pressure rubber fuel lines off of the primary and secondary rails on my 10th AE have seen better days. while i have the uim off i figured that i would replace the rubber lines, so i purchased a couple of feet of 5/16" high pressure fuel line. when i try to use it with the stock clamps i am able to turn the hose while on the rail and pull it off with the clamp installed. plan B: i tried a fuel injection clamp with the solid center. holds better but i am still able to spin the hose on the rail. i cannot remove the hose easialy, as it takes some brute force. i do not really like these clamps because i have to tighten them so much that a small V shaped piece on the band is burrowing into the hose. i then tried the ususal hose clamps with the slots and the screw. they work great as i am not able to turn the hose while it is clamped to the rail. it does however bed into the hose more than i would like. here is the dilema: i would like to use the oem clamps because they really work well. are the oem fuel lines a metric size only available at the dealer? perhaps a thicker outer sheath allowing me to use the oem clamps??? i just want to do this right the first time.

according to the dealer i need the following:

one: N318-13-416-cost $34.84
two of these: N318-13-498-cost $46.30

i said that i wasnt paying that much for three pieces of high pressure rubber fuel line. i called mazdatrix who directed me to use 5/16" fuel line and "ABA" clamps. i ordered the clamps and when they come in i will post pics of them for those who do not know what they are and will post the results of how i like them compared to the other three type of hose clamps i have been using.

yeah, they're correct. i'm just skeptical about using them due to still being able to pull the hose off by hand when clamped...

screw clamps have never leaked on me and im sure the hose will be fine...you'll just be able to see where the clamp came off of. Your just alittle paranoid...just make sure that they are good screw clamps and not the cheap ones that unscrew themselves when you try to loosen them.

just don't overtighten them. and the fuel pump check connector is your friend. It will let you test for leaks with the intake manifold removed and the engine not running.

When I was installing my gas tank, I went ahead and decided to replace the tank to hard line hoses and I used the fuel injection clamps from the parts store. With those clamps, you can't overtighten them like a screw clamp. When I tried to crank mine car up for the first time, fuel shot out everywhere because I didn't have them tight enough.
