The fuel filter is mounted in the engine bay, below the spark plugs on the body.

The fuel pump is in the tank.

Actually on the Driver's side Frame rail.
just look into the bay Between the driver's rear of the engine, under the Oil Filter area. You should be able to see the fuel Hose leading From the engine to the Fuel filter..Remember if you are replacing it,That it has Pressure,so be prepared,or you get soaked with gas!..NO Smoking!

Actually, there are both. The main fuel filter (high-pressure fuel filter) is located on the drivers side firewall. There is also an in-tank fuel filter (low-pressure fuel filter). It is more of a strainer to catch large particles. It is commonly referred to as the "fuel sock" on the forums since the older ones resembled a sock.

The sock should never really need cleaning, though it might be a good idea to just check it. There is an acsess panel in the truck.

The main fuel filter should not be that effected by the pre-mix. I change my filter every other year or so.
