Fuel Cut Switch?

Alright, here's the story, my injectors are leaking like absolute madness, and until that magical tax refund comes in I have no way of getting some new ones. I have an extra 12v switch and wire laying around and I was thinking about just throwing in a fuel cut switch. I am getting really tired of having to pop the hood and pull a fuse every time I want to start the car.

I think flipping a switch and just letting it run out of fuel is a much more convienient way of bandaging the problem (remember this is temporary) until I can afford to fix it in a few weeks. Has anyone had any real negative effects with a fuel cut off switch? Will this damage the car in any way?

Anyone have any other *CHEAP* short-term fixes until the new injectors are put in?

if you use just a swtich make sure it can withstand 15+ amps at all times, and if it cant then use a relay

My only remark to this is if you leave it on on accident youll flood the engine bad,but mine works good.Ive only fogot like three times! If you let your engine run out of fuel to turn it off like you said it wont flood ...mm i do have to feather the switch when im cranking it sometimes though,to allow enough fuel to start the car but not soo much as too flood it.Anyway good luck.

I wired my switch to the black wire on the driver's side rear strut/shock tower going to the fuel pump, I wired it using 18 gauge speaker wire and the switch lies next to my driver's side seat, if I were to do it again I would use something more like 14-12 gauge wire. Mine floods so bad that even if I pull the fuse, crank, return the fuse it still won't start. It takes a few seconds after the fuel is cut to shut off the engine, restarting it is pretty tough untill you get used to it. If you forget to flip the switch then it'll be just like it is now, right? good luck

Put it in the fuel pump relay under the dash and you don't have to worry about running wires from the fuel pump.

i just installed my fuel cut switch not too long ago. and it was really simple process took me about half an hour tops. spent more time buying the switch and wires. i used 14 gauge wires for mine and it works great. as far as i know there arent any draw backs to this. and about your fuel injectors, perhaps you can just get them cleaned? because fuel injectors dont really break or anything so spending all that money to get new ones seems a little unnescessary. just my 2 cents.

Cleaning them would fix that problem 95.5% of the time.

i had mine cleaned by cruzinperformance and the job was awesome. rich over there does a great job. though its half the price of RC eng. i dont think it lacks any quality. but yeah look into cleaning them, you can still do the fuel cut for now cause sending them out to be cleaned takes a little bit of time.
