Angry fubared electonics

My damn electronics in the car are upsetting me beyond belief. The stock security system works sometimes, but not others (although, this isnt worrying me much since i have an aftermarket system as well, and the stock alarm worked intermittently even before i installed it). A coupel of days ago, it developed another problem... the seatbelt light was on even with the car off and key out of the ignition!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!! My horn is the other problem. Its quite intermittent as well... Any ideas?

Harness grounding possibly. If you don't see a patern and the car runs good, then try starting with the major fuse blocks. Also check the battery ground.

Otherwise, you'll have to get ye old volt/ohm meter out or have an rx-7 shop do it for you.

It could be your door switches are corroded.

The "CPU" has bad solder joints in it...

The door switches have been replaced a few weeks ago and they work fine, i thought it was the problem too. The CPU stuff... i'll have to solder that, dont i? and the ground link... i replaced all my grounds with 4 gauge high current wire. So i dont think that's it. Any other ideas...?
btw, thank you everyone for replying. and ted, you're one of the most knowledgeable people when it comes to 7's... cheers man

When I got my 87, it had multiple electronic problems. I spent about 16 hours resoldering the connector joints (where the larger parts are connected to the circuit boards). I also cleaned the horn relay contacts (in the CPU module). Search for the “cold solder joints” posts. That fixed everything you describe. Just a heads up: The wiper switch relay will probably wear out soon. A new one can be soldered in.
