FU&*^*($(## dropped nut into egr hole
OK so what does this mean now? How can I retreive it out of the hole I tried my magnet but I could not get it out of there.. I dont know 100% if I dropped th enut in there but I am sure I did I was trying top thread it onto the stud and it fell out of my hand and I am sure into the hole...
What else can I do or does this mean I have to tare the engine apart?

Best bet is to keep at it with the magnet. What I would suggest doing is getting a strong magnet and attaching a wire/string to the end of it. Drop it down to where you believe the bolt fell. That should get it out. It's worked for me before. Just make sure if you do use string that it doesn't snap and you end up with more foreign objects left inside your engine.

where does that track go to in the engine? is it possible for the nut to fall into the engine and cause damage?
or will it fall through tothe oil pan or what?

which manifold?
S4? S5? N/A? TII? USDM? JSPEC?
I know that the japanese "EGR" does make a giant vac leak when the tube that bolts to the mani. isn't blocked, so I would say that it can certainly enter the engine on an S5 Jspec (turbo) mani.
But which one do you have?
edit: if it fell into the EGR and is going to enter the motor, its going to do so through the intake runners. When it gets to the engine no it won't fall through to the oil pan. Its going to be in there until it bounces out through the exhaust.

If you dropped it down the big hole, it will end up sitting in one of the rotor housing legs. The little holes lead to the intake ports.
If it's in the big hole, you can leave it.
