FSM question

So I'm new to this forum, and searched and searched on this topic, and found everything I need, except the FSM diagrams. Can anyone link me or tell me where to find them? I'm trying to put my s4 alternator on an s5 long block, with the s4 t2 emissions harness and s4 n/a engine harness. (and yes, I know *now* that it would be easier to leave the n/a emissions harness, but it's a little late for that)
Thanks!

Soooo, you're looking for the FSM links.....right?

I don't want to buy a shop manual for my car, is there a place where I can still find out the information from one
Shop manuals for both series can be found on-line at:
http://www.cochran-racing.com/FSM/index.html

or (86-88)
http://www.teamfc3s.org/main/factory...ual/1986_1988/
and (89-91)
http://www.teamfc3s.org/main/factory...ual/1989_1991/
89-91 Wiring only:

Next time please check the FAQ at the top of this forum.

Pay paticular attention to the plugs that are ORANGE in color and attach to the Front harness. The wiring at those plugs is different b/t the turbo EM harness and the non turbo EM harness. They call those plugs either X-15/X-16 or FEM-01/FEM-02 depending on the particular FSM your looking at. Same plugs, different reference designators.

Here's the two plugs in jpg attached. The wires peculiar to TURBO are in ( )...sorry, can't spell parenthesis.

Someone posted a jpg of a EM harness and I pointer to X-15/X-16 with a red line.

X-15 carries the alternator wires for a non turbo. They are the BW and WB wires one above the other in the jpg. But you see, the Turbo EM harness has BrR and BrB in the plave of BW and WB.

BrR comes from the boost sensor and BrB is a gnd wire (on turbo EM harnesses).

Then you've got your (YW) water temp sensor output wire in that plug, which won't do you any good because it's going to mate with a * in the Front harness plug (* means there's no wire there).

Then you've got all those other ( ) wires to deal with. Have fun. Acutally the only one that can cause HARM is the BrR wire. Thou shalt not mate that wire in the Turbo EM harensss with the BW wire in the Front non turbo harness. The BW is batt voltage and it'll backfeed into the boost sensors output to the ECU pin 2B. Usually that wire/pin only see under 3vdc or thereabouts.

Hmmm.....and I have not even mentioned the X-16 wires yet. Everything written above is X-15

Anyway, you'd run the two new wires from the series four alternator to the WB and BW wires in place of the BrR and BrB wires.

About the (YW) wire in the EM plug of the X-15. What you have to do, is move that wire somehow to the EM X-16 plug. You move it to EM X-16 , where on the far right of that plug, you see (LgB). The LgB should be removed and the YW from the X-15 installed there.

The Lg/B wire that you just got rid of or tied back out of the way, was coming from a power steering switch and I believe is peculiar to turbo cars with pwr steering. It's useless.

The (W) wire in X-16 EM plug is for the split air solenoid on a turbo car. You can either remove this wire from the plug or forget it. You can see where if you leave it, it will mate with a GB wire. The GB only exists if your car has an auxillary fan in front of the a/c condenser. No aux fan on your car,. Right?

The (LG) wire in EM X-16 comes from the knock sensor itself. It will mate with nothing because there is no wire in F X16 plug for a non turbo (you have a non turbo Front harness). So that hurts zippity.

Your X-15 EM plug has a GB wire. It will mate with no wire in the X-15 F plug. So that hurts nothing.
