front speaks dont work

front speaks dont work

front speakers dont work need to know where the stock amp is at for a 90 GTU

Stock amp is under the glove compartment. It is next to the speaker. There is also the passive belt controller box right there as well. Don't remove the wrong box.

Unless the speakers are in known good condition, the voice coils on the speakers may be gone.. which means: replacement speakers.

Yeah, pretty much figure that if the speakers are the original speakers that they are shot. Not too many speakers will even last 10 years in an automotive application, before they start disolving.

Hell, at this point, a lot of our cars (Cough*86*) are old enough for their second or third set of speakers

no i am sure im speakers are good they are not stock. because i rememebr somebody telling me that wen i removed my front speakers i didnt tape up the wires and they touched each othe and blew the fuse...is this right?

Sounds possible, although I've never heard of it doing blowing a fuse in anything. I've installed stereos for a while, too. Most of the time if your speakers short out, you won't get any sound out of that channel/side, and/or you'll get a very distinct distorted-static sound out of them.. It is definatly possible that your speakers are shorting out, but I figured they'd been in there a while, so it was less likely that the connector randomly came off, worth a check, though
