Front mount oil cooler

i currently have steel oil cooler lines (after blowing mine last year doing 100 on the freeway.

My question is. Is it possible to mount the Oil cooler like a front mounted Intercooler? I know the lines would have to be extended somehow. But for one it would look cool. And two. Would it cool any better?

It would be exposed to more air, so it probably would cool more. And yes you can do that, just make some brackets and get a shop to crimp the oil line fittings onto SS hose.

I doubt there'd be any increase in airflow from moving it forward, as that alone won't force any more air through it. You'd probably get a better improvement in airflow from cleaning 17 years of accumulated crud from the fins (assuming you haven't already).

If you were to move it directly behind the front grill, there would be more air going thru it. Because whatever comes thru that front hole also goes up thru the rad and under the oil cooler.

I was talking about the outside of it (where the air flows through it), but a radiator specialist should be able to take care of both the inside and outside. Just make sure they know how to deal with the thermostat. Do a search to find more info.
If you just want to clean the outside, any strong cleaning agent and a hose should to the trick. Once it's clean get a pair of small screwdrivers are straighten out any bent fins.
