front cover bs

how the hell do i get the front cover off, i already took off the oil pan and all the nuts around the front cover. its just the center wheel with the big nut in it. how do i take this off/out? please respond soon. thanks Gabe

19mm deep well socket, engine locked into place, breakerbar and some wheaties.

anyone know tq specs cause i have an impact gun but i dont want to over do it, i mean i already took off my flywheel nut with a 1100tq impact

You should be fine loosening it with that impact wrench. The tighten torq spec on the front hub bolt is 90 ft/lbs, 300 ft/lbs on the fly wheel nut.


Have you picked up the Haynes manual or downloaded the FSM yet?

Its on there good. I had to take it to a tire shop to get it off, my little air-impact wasnt strong enough.


Theres also a little spring looking thing you need to hold on to as well behind that nut.


Are you dis-assembling this engine or changing the cover?

I usually have more problems with the front pulley bolt than the flywheel nut, mainly due to the loctite that is put on. I usually torch the front pulley bolt for a while to heat/break loose the loctite, then go at it with the impact. Comes right off.

90 foot pounds on the E-shaft bolt, but they use the mother of all Loctite's on that bolt.l
